Customer needs and challenges:
Project summary:
The customer was contracting out their cable assembly requirements to a supplier who was performing inconsistently. Issues causing the customer grief included unresponsive customer service, slow quote turnaround, unreliable communications, an unpredictable new product introduction process and an unacceptable number of quality problems.
After quoting and then auditing Mega Techway’s manufacturing facility, the customer gave Mega Techway a trial commitment of 20 assemblies, supporting two locations. The pilot run was so successful, the customer added a second lot of 50 assemblies to test Mega Techway’s performance under an increased load. Based on the success of this second trial, the customer transitioned all of its cable assembly business to Mega Techway over the next 12 months. This transition included more than 400 additional assemblies supplied to 20 locations in four countries.
