Project summary:
A major energy management OEM was having severe capacity and delivery issues with their incumbent cable assembly supplier. To resolve those issues, the customer awarded a pilot order to Mega Techway (MTI) for a portion of the business, enabling the customer to meet critical, year-end shipments. MTI’s success with this pilot run combined with the incumbent’s ongoing missed shipments, scheduling inflexibility and excessive air freight charges led the customer to continue to increase MTI’s business share over the ensuing 18 months.
Ultimately, the customer transitioned 100% of their cable assembly spend to Mega Techway and eliminated the incumbent supplier. Key to this long-term success was MTI’s willingness to listen to the customer’s needs and be flexible in accommodating their volatile scheduling and erratic lead times. The partnership was so successful that the customer later transferred more than 180 different DIN rail terminal block, switch and breaker assemblies they had been building internally to MTI. Mega Techway was able to provide a solution on these assemblies that was not only cost competitive but also improved both assembly quality and delivery performance.
